The Farm Animal Welfare Council has written to Elliot Morley,
on 23 September, about the current difficulties being experiences
by the livestock sector in the disposal of cull ewes and calves.
Although the Council welcomes the significant aid now earmarked
for the livestock sector we believe that the welfare of these animals
could be increasingly compromised if further action is not taken.
