22 December 2004 FAWC wrote to Ben Bradshaw MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary, Defra on CAP reform and animal welfare. Text of the paper plus appendix 'B' is now available. 27 August 2004 The Farm Animal Welfare Council provided written evidence to the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee on the draft Animal Welfare Bill
30 June 2004 FAWC launched its Report on the Welfare Implications of Animal Breeding and Breeding Technologies in Commercial Agriculture (560 KB) at its Annual Open Meeting. A news release (30 KB) has been issued. Copies can also be obtained from the FAWC Secretariat.

27 Sept 1999

The Farm Animal Welfare Council has written to Elliot Morley, on 23 September, about the current difficulties being experiences by the livestock sector in the disposal of cull ewes and calves. Although the Council welcomes the significant aid now earmarked for the livestock sector we believe that the welfare of these animals could be increasingly compromised if further action is not taken. 30 July 1999 The Council has written to Elliot Morley about the need for rigorous monitoring and enforcement of animal welfare legislation. Coupled with reference to the appropriate welfare code, this is essential to achieving acceptable levels of animal welfare in the UK.
